In the Microbiota, Intestine and Inflammation laboratory at the Saint-Antoine research center, headed by Prof. Harry SOKOL and with researcher Nathalie ROLHION, we are studying the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients with genetic auto-inflammatory diseases. To answer this question, we collect stool samples from patients and healthy subjects, in order to compare their intestinal microbiota. Previous work in this laboratory has demonstrated dysbiosis in patients with familial Mediterranean fever.
The identification of dysbiosis in patients with genetic auto-inflammatory diseases could pave the way for new microbiota-specific treatments (prebiotic, probiotic or post-biotic treatments).
